Cross the border between Portugal and Spain along the way!

With our Portuguese Way, we cover wonderful natural landscapes, as well as crossing the international bridge over the River Minho. With the meeting point set in Fátima, we take the road and then walk in the middle of the road, from Valença do Minho to Santiago de Compostela.

Day 01:

Fátima – Valença (Route in our private vehicle)
Valença – Tui – 4 Km (Here begins our Path)
Our meeting point will be in Fátima – Rotunda Sul at 1:20 pm. Where we will leave towards Valença do Minho. The estimated time of arrival in Valença do Minho will be at 17h30m. Here after stamping the first “sello” on the credential, we literally take the first step towards Santiago, on this first day we walk about 4km to Tui, where we will spend the first night.

Day 02:

Tui – Fraela (25.1Km)

With the departure in the City of Tui, we finish the stage at the top of the village of Fraela. At this stage we can admire the fantastic forests, through which we will walk during the day. After passing through the city of Porriño, we follow the ascent of Mós, where at the end of this stage we finish the stage. Then we will continue in our private vehicle to Redondela, to spend the night in a private hostel.

Day 03:

Fraela – Pontevedra (26.1Km)
Today the first kilometers will be done in our private vehicle until the start of the stage in Fraela, where we ended yesterday. After passing through the beautiful woods before the city that welcomed us yesterday, here we are again in Redondela. From Redondela the path winds through “Ria Viguesa” and “Ria de Pontevedra”, our stage today ends in Pontevedra, the “Capital” of the Portuguese Way in Galicia.

Day 04:

Pontevedra – Caldas de Rei (21.1Km)

Today’s stage is one of the most beautiful on the Portuguese Way in the Galicia region. Vineyards, small rural chapels, chestnut, pine and eucalyptus forests, set the tone so that before the end of the stage we can rest at Moinhos da Barosa, a grand natural place with waterfalls and natural pools. Today we spend the night in Caldas de Rei, a spa town with hot springs.

Day 05:

Caldas de Rei – Slavery (24.7Km))

With Caldas de Rei behind, the Way continues in the wonderful valley of Bermaña and its centenary forest. We will pass to the city of the famous peppers, Padrón, as the legend says was where the ferry with the body of the Apostle Santiago from Palestine docked. Padrón will also be the place where we will stay overnight. For that we will return in our private vehicle from the Church of A Escravitude.

Day 06:

The Slavery – Santiago (17.6Km) The day of emotion!

Today we will leave in our private vehicle until the beginning of the stage, in the huge Church of A Escravitude. Here it will be the starting point for the last 17 kilometers of the Portuguese Way to reach the Cathedral of Santiago, full of joy. With the arrival scheduled for the beginning of the afternoon, the group will be able to give the much desired hug to the Apostle Santiago

Day 07:

Free day in Santiago and return to Fátima

Free day in Santiago, where we recommend attending the Mass of the Pilgrim, in which if we have the opportunity we can still watch the Bota-fumeiro. You can take the opportunity to go to Compostela, visit the historic area full of monuments, squares and streets. You can see the market, where we can buy local products. After the visit and at the agreed time, we returned to Fátima.
